Breathe Easy - guided practices

This course has 20 sessions, which you can do at your own pace, designed for the absolute beginner. Led by Andrew Dowler, Exercise Physiologist, Acupuncturist and Qigong - Yoga Teacher

Are you breathing correctly?

Some breathing facts

breathing is the first thing you do when we are born, and is the last action we take. In-between your heart and lungs never stop working to delivery oxygen to your cell

  • breathing is ALL about how well you use oxygen

  • you can survive 3 minutes without oxygen, 3 days without water, 3 weeks without food. HOW you breath matters

  • on average most people take 20,000 breath per day

  • It is possible to easily slow your breathing rate form 16 breaths per minute, to 5 breath per minute with a little practice

  • Slowing your breathing down to 5 breaths per minute helps your mind and body relax

  • Switching from open mouth breathing to nostril mouth breathing can increase your immune system, and metabolism and decrease your heart rate and blood preassure

  • You can increase your energy by practicing breathing exercises

  • Many people experience back pain because they are not breathing correctly. Learning how to breath correctly can help resolve back pain.

FAQ

  • Do I need a doctors referral to start the Breathe Easy program

    If you have a medical condition like Asthma. COPD, or Emphysema then its a good idea to check in with your doctor before starting any exercise program. Having said that, Breathe Easy includes many exercises i use with 1-2-1 clients who have breathing difficulties, including COPD, and ASTHMA. If unsure I'm always happy to do a 1-2-1 session initially, to see if Breathe Easy is suitable, or weather a more individually tailored program is more suitable.

  • Im a total newbie to breathing exercises, is this ok for me

    Yes, I've designed this program for the absolute beginner to breathing exercises. I'll step you through each lesson, and if you have questions along the way I'm happy to help

  • How long does it take

    Each lesson takes between 30 - 45 minutes. There are 20 lessons in total, over a 4 week period. You'll need to complete each lesson before getting acces to the next days lesson. You get 2 days off each week for self practice.

  • Is there a payment plan?

    sure is. You can either pay the full program cost up front, or over two monthly payments.

  • Is this online only.

    Yep, you'll need a good internet connection to stream each lesson. You can do the program on any device.

  • I have a history of back pain, is it safe for me to do

    I always recommend that you check with your doctor before starting any exercise program if you have an existing injury. In my 25 years as an exercise physiologist working with a lot of lower back pain cases, it is my observation that learning how too breath correctly is vital to help resolve the problem. The exercises in Breath Easy are low intensity, self paced and gentle which allow plenty of space to adjust and modify along the way.

  • What do i need to do this at home?

    all you will need is a good internet connection, and a mobile device, tablet, computer to stream the lessons. You'll also need a small area to practice in, a yoga matt, cushion bolster/chair. all the exercise are done either on the floor (back, tummy, hands and knees) and seated (chair or bolster.).

  • I'd prefer to do 1-2-1 sessions,is that possible?

    Yes absolutely. I offer private 1-2-1 consultations either in my Batemans Bay Studio, or online. Private sessions are $130 for an hour. Contact me on [email protected] for more info.
